Telford- based Precision Colour Printing has been accredited with ISO 14001 for its environmental management systems.
This adds to the ISO 9001 it was previously awarded for its quality assurance management. The specialist web-offset and sheetfed company, which is one of the UK's most innovative commercial printers, has carved out a niche for working on diverse projects for some of the country's leading publishers.
PCP Health and Safety manager Mick Simmonds was responsible for managing the accreditation process. He said ' We are delighted to receive this 14001 accreditation. It has been extremely hard work over the past 18 months and every person in the company, from the managing director down, has played a significant part in gaining it.
'But the hard work really starts now as we have to strive even harder to keep this certification through internal audits and continuous management reviews. These standards and the management systems they require are vital to the continuing success and development of our business.'
At the same time, PCP has also gained FSC and PEFC Chain of Custody Certification. This means that it can provide an ever-growing choice of wood-free and other certified paper stocks for its customers.
The company, which is part of the same group that owns the Wolverhampton Express and Star and Shropshire Star newspapers, is now working towards the ISO 18001 health and safety management standard.
