The Environment Agency have managed to secure funding for a UK-wide online electronic duty of care system. The funding will meet 50% of the total cost for the system, which will replace more than 18 million paper waste transfer notes.

The internet based system will provide a more efficient system removing the mountainous paper trail behind the movement of waste in the UK.

The system will start rolling out in 2012.
