The Carbon Reduction Commitment is now live, if you have a half hour electricity meter, you have to record your electricity use in 2008 with the CRC scheme by 30 September 2010. If you’re a high user, you will have to pay a fee to become a participant and start reporting your electricity use.

There is potential for companies to benefit from the scheme as a league table will be produced and the paid fees recycled back to the participants based on performance.

This first year April 2010 - March 2011 is the "footprint" year. If your half hourly meter usage is more than 6000 MWh you will need to register.
