Testimonials
Here are just a few things our members have been saying about us.......

Environmental issues are constantly being talked about by businesses, in the media and at Government levels throughout the world, and we all have our little part to play.
The fact that long term reduction in energy usage and waste leads directly to bottom line savings, let alone helping the Environment, means that any business should have an interest.
As a calibration and repair company our use of natural rescouces and the amount of waste we generate is small compared with some of the large manufacturing companies in the area, but with the help of BESST we have been able to make financial savings as well as improving our environmental performance and awareness. This has been done in many ways including an Energy Audit, information on alternative and new technologies and the loaning of energy monitorung equipment.
I find the events organised by BESST are always useful and as give us contact and links to official bodies which would normally be more difficult as an SME, they also give an opportunity to network and discuss problems and solutions with other companys.
Environmental legislation and issues affect every company and I would recommend to any local business that by joining the BESST group or attending the BESST events you will get access to information, advice or help in dealing with these issues.

‘The BESST group has undoubtedly provided a networking gateway to local businesses, the group is non select and is made up from SME's to world renowned blue chip organisations. The advantage of this cross section of members is that we are all striving for the same goal it is non competitive and genuinely businesses are happy to share good practises and experiences.
I genuinely believe that this harmonised commitment has led to great benefits throughout the Telford area and these benefits may not have been possible without BESST.
As an environmental representative of AGA manufacturers of high quality cookers and cookware it is essential that we as a business join forces with local businesses and embrace initiatives working towards zero landfill, reducing our carbon footprint on society and benefiting the planet as a whole.
The BESST group has supported many members with regards to formal environmental qualifications and I like many other members I have benefited from attaining CIEH levels I and III.
Raising environmental awareness throughout industry is key to not only our future but also the success of the planet, no longer is it acceptable for organisations to produce waste without considering the significance of process inputs and outputs on the planet.
The BESST group holds a number of key events many of which are held at members factories, the events are well structured and extremely well received, and the opportunities for discussion in an open forum is second to none. Members are able to ask open direct questions and discuss problems and concerns.
AGA has made considerable progress with regards to waste streams and the identification of process inputs and outputs throughout the business. We appreciate that there is a long way to go however with the help of the BESST organisation we are able to draw off specialist knowledge and advice.
I have no doubt that as the BESST organisation grows and develops many businesses will adopt greener policies and look seriously at their environmental impact and with the increase in awareness generated by BESST and their support businesses will undoubtedly strive towards a cleaner greener environment for all.’

‘BESST has benefited Plastil UK by, on one hand showing us what can be achieved, through the site visits and events, and also by providing a networking opportunity. Being a SME we are not able to show the impressive figures and equipment of the multi-nationals such as Denso but we have been able to cut our cost of waste and are continuing to do so. We now have our own plastic re-cycling plant in France which will further reduce the bottom line and we are progressing, albeit slowly, to recycling water. All of which, except the recycling plant, has indirectly resulted from my attendance at the BESST events.’
Adam Elmore, Plastil
“DENSO Manufacturing UK Ltd has benefited from being a member of BESST in many ways. The group is an excellent forum to share good environmental practices. As a company we have learnt and improved on our environmental management system and become a more resource efficiency company at the same time. Also, BESST has give us the opportunity to raise the environmental profile of DENSO within the local community, by being a member of the working group and hosting events for the club”.
Manel Roura, DENSO Manufacturing UK Ltd

BESST has supported our company by providing relevant meetings and workshops that have been informative, up to date and focused on business issues. The group also provided a network forum to access a variety of knowledge and information that would have otherwise been unavailable. The value of the group has been beneficial by enabling us, as a company, to keep abreast of environmental issues that may impact upon us, our customers or stakeholders, and that has influenced some of our business decisions.

All in all, I feel that BESST is a very effective way of raising awareness on all things Environmental. The earlier events highlighted our own company’s “ignorance” on Environmental issues but with the help and support of the group, we have continued to strive towards being as “Environmentally Friendly” as we can. This was highlighted in our last ISO 14001 third party audit, where we had a good result due to being more environmentally aware.
Areas where we have benefited as a company:
· New ideas on how to recycle and save energy – raising awareness.
· Found an outlet for our Plastic Pallets – we currently sell them on to Telford Extrusions. This was done through networking at a BESST event.
· Awareness of the different organisations that are on hand to help and give advice.
We all still have a lot to learn and I feel that being a member of BESST is the way forward ……… long may it continue.
