Total gas used in kWh from gas bill

Direct fuel use

From receipts of purchased fuel

Refrigeration and air-conditioning

If refrigeration and air-conditioning emissions are not recorded then you will need to carry out inventory to find out:

(i)                  the number and types of each refrigeration unit;

(ii)                the type of refrigerant used (e.g. HFC 134a, R404a,  etc);

(iii)               the total charge capacity of each piece of equipment

(iv)              the time in years used during the reporting period (e.g. 6/12 if used only during half of the reporting period then disposed)

Fuel used in company owned vehicles

Litres of fuel purchased from invoices and receipts or

Vehicle mileage from logbooks or odometers

Maybe from the fleet manager

Process Emissions

If details of gases released from industrial processes are known then the spreadsheet can convert them to kgCO₂e equivalent.

Water supplied and treated

In million litres or cubic metres off the water bill.

Business travel and distribution

This refers to all business travel and distribution that is in vehicles that are not owned by the company. Receipts for details of travel (on mileage and expense claims) and then use of distance calculating websites to obtain flight, road and rail distances.
