What can I get?
1. Grant scheme to assist businesses in improving their energy efficiency and developing renewable energy technology solutions.
2. Free training for businesses looking to attain the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS).
What does it do?
1. For costs towards an energy audit, a grant is available from RE:think Energy of 45% up to a maximum of £450. This identifies areas in which your business can make energy and resource efficiency savings.
A general Business Audit should:
• examine of the fabric of the building, services, controls and processes
• establish the existing energy supply and distribution network
• consider occupancy, building use, environmental conditions and requirements
• review of energy management policy and procedures
• establish the viability of installing a renewable energy system
• identify opportunities for renewable energy systems
• identify opportunities for energy efficiency measures
• make recommendations on alternative systems and options for integration
• provide guidance on capital and running costs and estimated reduction in carbon dioxide emissions per year
For costs towards a renewable technology feasibility study, a grant is available from RE:think Energy of 45% up to a maximum of £750. This provides independent research on the suitability for renewable technologies in your site.
A Feasibility Study for a renewable energy technology should:
• provide technical specification of technology suitable for tender
• consider planning, and connections requirements/permissions
• establish outline costs and cash flow if applicable
• estimate carbon dioxide savings per year
2. Free training towards training individuals in installing renewable technologies. Requires a £100 returnable deposit.
Aim
The aim of the training is to:
• Develop awareness and skills in environmental technologies for individual participants
• Provide recognized training to individual participants to complement the achievement of the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS)
Who can apply?
All Small to Medium sized businesses can apply for either part of the project within the local authority areas Telford and Wrekin, Shropshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire and Worcestershire.
